History - Cedar Hill Lutheran

Cedar Hill Lutheran was started in 1983 and has been dedicated to making sure that God's love is made real in people's lives everyday. With our very first meeting we committed to making food baskets for the needy. Since then they have built homes, taken medical supplies to those hurting, fed hundreds, and worked hand and hand with people who lost everything due to floods, fires, and tornadoes. Several of our ministries are dedicated to serve our community, such as; Heaven's Pantry and Angel Food. We also have special ministries to assist our community during the year; Easter baskets, collecting school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets, toy drive and several more.

Serving God By Serving Others

The first service for Cedar Hill Lutheran was held on October 30, 1983 in the gym of the Cedar Hill Middle School with 67 people in attendance. The Reverend Dr. Eugene Linse served as the vacancy pastor. During the following three years there were also a number of guest pastors. Rev. Vernon Koehlinger served as pastor from August 31, 1986 to January 7, 1990.  Dr. David Bilgreen was installed as pastor in January 1991. John Barnett became overseer of the church in September 1992.

Ground breaking for the current church building began on March 27, 1988.

The first service in the new building was held on February 5, 1989.  The congregation has grown to over 300 members.
